Control Union Malaysia Supports Dialogue on Building Bankable Climate Adaptation at UCFS Malaysia 2026
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia — Control Union Malaysia was honoured to participate as a Supporting Partner at Unlocking Capital for Sustainability (UCFS) Malaysia 2026, held at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Kuala Lumpur. The event convened policymakers, regulators, financial institutions, sustainability practitioners, development organisations, and industry leaders to explore pathways for accelerating sustainable finance and climate resilience.
A key highlight of the event was the opening plenary session, “Building Bankability for National Adaptation,” where Control Union Malaysia’s Managing Director, Supun Nigamuni, joined distinguished experts to discuss how assurance, credible data, innovative financing mechanisms, and capacity-building can help transform climate adaptation ambitions into investable opportunities.

During the discussion, Supun emphasised the critical role of trust and transparency in unlocking capital for sustainability initiatives:
“Climate adaptation cannot succeed on ambition alone. To unlock capital at scale, we must build trust through credible data, transparent verification, and measurable outcomes.”
– Supun Nigamuni, Managing Director, Control Union Malaysia

As climate-related risks continue to intensify, the need for reliable sustainability information and robust verification processes has become increasingly important. Investors, financial institutions, businesses, and governments require confidence that sustainability outcomes can be measured, validated, and trusted. Strengthening these foundations is essential to mobilise greater investment towards adaptation and resilience-building efforts.
At Control Union Malaysia, we remain committed to supporting organisations through globally recognised assurance, certification, verification, and sustainability solutions. By enabling transparency and accountability, we help strengthen confidence across supply chains, projects, and investment ecosystems, contributing to a more sustainable and resilient future.

We also extend our appreciation to Eco-Business for organising UCFS Malaysia 2026 and creating a valuable platform for meaningful dialogue and collaboration. Events such as UCFS play an important role in fostering partnerships, exchanging insights, and driving collective action towards sustainable development and climate resilience.
The discussions throughout the event reinforced an important message: while the challenges surrounding climate adaptation are significant, so too are the opportunities. Through stronger collaboration between the public and private sectors, and a shared commitment to transparency and accountability, sustainable finance can become a powerful catalyst for long-term resilience and impact.
As organisations continue to navigate an evolving sustainability landscape, Control Union Malaysia remains dedicated to helping businesses build trust, demonstrate credibility, and create bankable sustainability solutions that deliver lasting value for communities, economies, and future generations.
