Transparency from Source to Market
Traceability & NDPE
About Traceability & NDPE
Traceability and NDPE assurance are no longer optional sustainability initiatives — they are critical components of regulatory compliance, market access, risk mitigation, and corporate reputation management.
With increasing regulatory requirements (e.g., EUDR) and investor scrutiny, companies must demonstrate verifiable, data-driven control over their supply chains.
Traceability provides end-to-end visibility from finished product back to origin.
A robust traceability system ensures:
- Verified geolocation of sourcing areas (plot-level readiness)
- Full mapping of direct and indirect suppliers
- Volume reconciliation and mass balance integrity
- Data validation and fraud risk controls
- Real-time monitoring capability
This enables the organization to identify sourcing risks early, manage exposure, and demonstrate defensible due diligence.
NDPE commitments address environmental and social risks across the supply chain:
- No deforestation (HCV/HCS compliance, cut-off enforcement)
- No development on peatlands
- No exploitation (labour rights, FPIC, grievance mechanisms)
Effective NDPE implementation requires more than policy statements — it demands active monitoring, supplier enforcement, and documented remediation.
Independent Assurance & Risk Mitigation
Third-party verification strengthens credibility by:
- Validating geospatial data and deforestation screening
- Testing supplier compliance systems
- Reviewing grievance handling and remediation processes
- Assessing effectiveness of risk mitigation measures
This reduces exposure to regulatory penalties, supply disruption, and reputational damage.
Business Value
A mature traceability and NDPE assurance framework delivers:
- Regulatory compliance readiness (e.g., EUDR alignment)
- Protection of market access in EU and global markets
- Reduced legal and reputational risk
- Increased investor confidence
- Stronger ESG positioning
- Greater supply chain resilience
Services We Offer
Traceability Verification
In palm oil, cocoa, rubber, timber, etc., traceability usually works at different levels:
1. Traceability to Mill (TTM)
You know which mill processed the FFB or raw commodity.
2. Traceability to Plantation (TTP)
You know which estate supplied the mill.
3. Traceability to Smallholder (TTSH)
Individual farm-level traceability (often GPS polygon-based now).
4. Traceability to Plot (EUDR-level)
Exact geolocation (latitude/longitude polygon) of the farm plot.
NDPE (No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation) IRF Verification
NDPE commitments address environmental and social risks across the supply chain:
• No deforestation (HCV/HCS compliance, cut-off enforcement)
• No development on peatlands
• No exploitation (labour rights, FPIC, grievance mechanisms)
